    Hi Everybody,

    I've been on here for a couple of weeks and haven't introduced myself so I figured I would.

    My name is Richard and I live in Miami, Florida. I have two wonderful boys- one 6, one 19 who's in the Navy, and a great wife who patiently puts up with me.:)

    I fly helicopters for a living and spend most of my free time just chilling with the family, playing the drums or shooting.

    I had a fish only saltwater tank about 25 years ago and I am currently in the planning stage of what will be my first reef tank and only tank since then. Thanks to all of you for the help and advice so far and that yet to come.

    Unclejed, is there a particular place on the forum to journal the process, post pics and list plans? I haven't really ever participated in a forum and I'm not up on all of the etiquette yet.

    The mods will correct me if I am incorrect but i would say in the "Forums" in the "General" catagory as you are seeking advice also.

    fly helicopters? that sounds like a great job to me

    Yes if you want help setting up - the general section is great

    if it becomes a tank build thread, once all the questions are answered and progress made
    we can move it to the "show off your fish tank " forum for you

    Thanks Steve. I am a little OCD about pre-planning things so hopefully I'll have my basic equipment by weeks end and water cycling. I'll be sure to post pics and lessons learned.

    Great forum and great folks. I appreciate every one's advice and patience.

    Nice to have you here! You must be very proud of your older son - kindly thank him for his service - i have nothing but the utmost respect and gratitude for all of our servicemen, servicewomen, and their families.

    I bet the younger son will have a lot of fun with you as the new tank comes together. You couldn't have joined a better place than 3reef :)
