new to this forum, my name is anthony
i currently have a 55g corner bowfront mixed reef aquarium.
unfortunatly all my fish are in quaranteen(ich problem)
roughly 40# live rock t5 ho lighting skimmer and marineland 350 canister
the corner stand i have has no room for sump (may upgrade later)
livestock.1 sailfin tang, 1 rusty angel, R.I.P flame angel (died Yesterday)
2 pj cardinals, 1 blue damsel,
2 pepermint shimp, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 blood shrimp
1 spiney red star

How long are the fish going to be in the QT ?

 

welcome to 3reef and sorry for your loss.

 

been in qt for one week so far all is stable except for well you know.
planning to keep them in there for 8 to 10 weeks while main tank goes through what it needs to go through. i hope the rest make it.
oh forgot to mention my corals some zoo polyos, two two headed dendros and a couple featherdusters they all seem to be doin well.

has anyone used seachem para guard before im tryin to find out if its reef safe?

 

If you leave the display tank without fish (fallow) for 8 to 10 weeks Marine Ich will die, it is dependent on fish to complete it's life cycle. Sixty days seems to be the new time line for leaving the DT fallow.

What are you using in the QT?

 

in the QT i am using seachem paraguard. the sailfin still eats like a horse but seems to be bothered and itchy the rusty angle also showing signs. the damsel and the two pj seem pretty normal. i will be doing waterchange tomorrow (last one yesterday).
I really dont know what else to do.

are you doing any treatment to the QT? if not the fish will still carry the parasite when time to move them back to DT.
sorry i did not notice that you mentioned the seachem treatment. i know nothing about it but all i've read is that only hyposalinity or copper are effective treatments against ich
