    Hi Silkman

KH - that sounds wrong to me? mine is 14 and that would be considered high? are you measuring something else

if inverts die and the fish are OK I always suspect copper? have you used any medications on the fish in the tank Cuprazin for example? have you used tap water and your pipe work is copper

do you have any children who may have thrown some pennies or twopences into the tank (wishing well)

I would take a sample to your LFS of you tank water and get them to run a copper test for you - or buy a copper test kit

if it is copper you need to use a sea chem product called Cuprizorb in your filter and that will absorb it

there may be other causes , but copper is always my number 1 suspicion when inverts die quickly but fish seem OK

how long has tank been set up by the way? and have you tested for ammonia?

    Steve

I would also test for voltage in the water. You should always run a ground probe in a tank if you have submersible pumps. Also may be a copper problem too, which as already been stated.

    Oh.. Welcome to 3reef.

You can run copper absorbing agents. Try this stuff, it workks really well. It got rid of the copper that was in my 150G tank.
Seachem CupriSorb I used 1 liter.

Copper may be the answer but I am leaning toward total shock going from LFS to your water meaning.....what Mag, Calc, PH, SG and Alk levels were the inverts kept in at the LFS. Many aquarists never bother to ask all the key questions and find out all of the parameters the LFS has compared to what you have. SG, Alk and PH are the big three when it comes to acclimating.
