hi everyone i have a few ?s about zoas...

for some reason everytime i buy zoas they last for a week or so and then they start to melt and die,no bugs are on them..i have a 8 month old tank...40 gallon with a 15 gallon overflow plenty of live rock and its not over crowded iv tested it for everything from copper...to.....iron and everything in between and mywater par..seem to be just fine am i missing some thing..can anyone shed some light on this please i would really like to start a reef tank any info would be great.thanks

can you please tell us what kind of inhabitants you have in your tank.. fish, crabs, shrimp, ect.. also, what type of lighting do you have?

I'd start dipping them.

if I had to guess (given the current info) I'd say you have some nudi's.

 

thanks i have a clown fish,pj cardnal,mandrin goby,and a scopas tang,and a few hermits as for lights i have 2 coralife 10,000k,96watt compact bulbs one is actinic blue..they are about 7 in away from the water surface....

 

iv tried iodine dips and melafix solution...

 

i just dont know ????also is my light sufficant..

 

ive had 2 frags that melted on me but i think they were in just too strong a flow and or werent secured to the frag plug very well , but sure as sh** they disapeared a polyp at a time :O(
