    Hi people,

Let me introduce myself Im Spud from Sheffield and I have only recently started to keep saltwater fish. I have kept freshwater tropical fish for about 15 years and have finally decided to give saltwater fish a go. I have found that saltwater fish keeping is far more complex than the freshwater tropical fish but Im glad Im having a go.

Well let me tell you about my setup. When I tell you the size of my tank and that im a beginner I think some people might go  I have heard the smaller the tank the more difficult it can be well you won't get much smaller than mine.
    • Dimensions: 11 inches x 11 inches x 11 inches
    • Internal Protein Skimmer
    • Heater
    • Thermometer
    • Fluval 1 Powerhead Filter
    • Live Sand
    • Live Rock
    • Torch Coral [But its nearly dead ]
    • Yellow Colony Polyp
    • 2 Clownfish
    • 2 Hermit Crabs
    • 2 Snails
    • Tiny Starfish which must have been living on the Live Rock when I bought it.
    • Bristleworms (Seem to have a few of these but they don't seem to cause any trouble).
To say its my first attempt at saltwater fish things seem to be going well except for my torch coral which seems to have nearly died.

Here is a pic of the tank.

Welcome to 3Reef>>>> Your right about saying the smaller they are the harder they are to keep. I just took down a nano cube dx 12 gal, and put up a 5.5 gal nano... I love nano's, at least til I get a large tank anyway..lol How many watts do you got going into that tank??? Nice tank by the way!!!!

    Hi, and welcome to 3reef!
Nice looking little tank you have there!
I definitely would add more light! Due to the newness of your set up and the very minimal lighting, I think that is a very correct assessment as to why your coral died!
Check your water parameters, read alot, and don't go crazy with corals especially having never journeyed into salt before. Take it slow and build up once you have gained some confidence and maturity to be successful and more knowledgeable and comfortable.

Welcome to 3reef. Boy that is a small tank. At least if your going to do water changes you will only have to buy bags of salt instead of buckets. ;)

Welcome aboard mate. The family keeps on getting better, good for us! Great looking tank no matter the size. BTW, how many gals is it? We're here if you have any Q's and you will.
