just got stuck with 10 feeder goldfish, have no clue how to get the filter going and if they'll survive without it for 30 minutes
Can I put the gravel in now that the fish are already in the tank? I know it's backwards...oy!

Very possible that all 79 views don't deal with fresh water too often...as I don't but if I was to "guess" I would say yes, it should be okay. Wash the gravel well with filtered water, and add the gravel slowly.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Welcome to 3reef.

Not all fish are created equal and while we do have a couple of fresh water keepers, most are salt.
Your post was rather vague as in tank size and type, filter type, is the tank cycled all, did you treat the water? See it's not easy to garner enough information out of your post to provide assist.

Need a little bit more to go on than your stuck with 10 feeder fish. Do you want to set up a tank or is this just a rescue?

We would be happy to assist.

They can go without filter several hours. They are die-hards. Be sure to use a de-chlorinator for water and that the temperature of water is identical or a tad warmer, NOT colder
