Crocea is the smallest of the clams reaching a max of around 6 inches.
Maximas would be in the middle with the Derasa, and Squamosa species growing to a couple feet in length with the Tridacna Gigas tipping the scale at several hundred pounds and over 4 feet in size!!!

I'll prob go with the Derasa until I know I'm not committing clam-a-cide.
As for the rest of it...
couple of dwarf feather dusters, couple of starfish, some hermit crabs, snails, etc to keep the tank clean between cleanings....
looks like about 6 months down the road til I get to buying the clam anyways

Welcome! You should heed C.Reefer's advice, pass on the Mandarins. In that small of a tank they are destined to die. Most dont even survive in larger tanks. You need a tank greateer than 90g's with100lbs of live rock and a refugium to propagate copepods and amphipods which is thier primary food source. And thats for just one mandarin.
