Welcome to 3reef. Since you are mechanically inclined you could drill the tank yourself. I did mine today and it isn't as hard as it seems.

Can't bite my nails if my hands are busy...LOL. Yeah I do have a drill would need a bit. but am thinking of just doing a continuous siphon so I can upgrade later to the 72 gallon bowfront or a slightly larger one. Then the 46g bow front can be used for my brackish water fish.

Good new is I got a Odyssea light fixture w/ 50/50 lights for fairly cheap. I plan to add 225 bright white LEDs and a strip of blue ones for a moonlight effect.

Thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome.

I have my 10 gallon nano up and cycling...need better lighting though.

Have my 46 bow front almost ready to go...have bio wheel HOB filter, a CPR skimmer and Odyssea light with 1x 12K daylight and 1x actinic light 36 watt each I think.

Plan to build a custom stand and hood (will use JWin/tripple mom's hood design).
My stand doesn't have space for a sump/fuge (it has a center cubby and 2 side shelves)...besides it looks cheap and kinda ugly IMO. I got all the tank, stand, filter and skimmer used so the price was right. Found a place for free RO/DI water and a good place for LR so can't wait to start the bigger tank. i already have dreams of a 72 gal bow front in my future...hehehe...is what I wanted to start out with but they are pricey.

    Anyway... hello everyone!

Lighting sounds interesting, can't wait to see pics of it in action.

Me too cuz it'll mean my tank is up and running...hehehe. Oh well have the lil' 10 gallon to tide me over till can get the 46 set up. hopefully next month is heater and sand (will do mostly dry and seed with 1 bag of live OR all dry and just use the LR to seed it)

So far have the HOB bio wheel filter the tank came with and will add LR to that...and have a HOB CPR Bak Pak 2 skimmer that'll have either chaeto or LR in the "bio bale" space. Will make a weir style overflow ~cross fingers~ that it works...if I make it right.:uneasy:

It should, I've made quite a bit of cool stuff and taught myself to follow and make a wiring diagram and to solder among other things...all in the name of making something for myself. OOOO and I have the plans drawn out for the stand, still can't fit much under it but is better than the current one plus of course the matching hood so any suicidal fish can't succeed. :cheesy::LolLolLol:cheesy:

And lastly I've got fish in my nano....yeah!
