Anyone have one of these? He's really cute and colorful, but he never comes out during feeding time. I see him mainly in the early morning before I go to work (tank lights out) but I don't have time to feed him frozen foods at that time. I've tried throwing some pellets in, but he doesn't seem to go for them then.

He did eat some Brine like the 2nd day I had him, but that was the only day he came out to eat. I've had him about 2 weeks now. I saw him this morning so I know he's still alive.

Anything that I can feed to entice him to come out and eat or are alot of gobies this way. I've only had my tank setup a couple months.

I feed frozen brine enriched with Selcon and Vitachem (alternate) and Ocean Nutrition formula one pellets. I have marine flakes too, but I don't feed them much.

Any tips to get this guy to eat or should I assume that he is eating something (since he's still alive)?

I just found that my yellow clown goby comes out more often now that she's got another peaceful tank mate with her. I didn't think she was going to make it at first because I never saw her in QT, but she's fine now. Do you have other fish, a pod population that's healthy and have you ever tried frozen Cyclo-Peze? Just some thoughts.

I have 2 True Perculas in the tank with the Goby. Its a 38g. I have some pods that I have seen, but the tank isn't that mature yet, so I'm sure its not a ton. And I have not tried Cyclo-peze. I will look into that. Thanks!

I have 1 of these in my sump. Yeah, I put him there and he hands out with my cleaner shrimp.

My Dottyback would kill both the shrimp and that goby if I had them in the DT.

Once I get my new tank set up, the dottyback will go in the sump, or maybe traded in....

That said, these little guys don't need to eat much, being so small, and they usually will eat little pods and errant food floating in the water column.

I feed mine a tiny bit of rods reef, along with the shrimp. He is fat and happy.

edit.. look at all of our avatars, all our dogs:)

Thanks horkn. That definitely makes me feel better about my little guy. I've been thinking about buying some rods reef food, so maybe I'll do that and give him something else to eat.

And yeah...all of our avatars are our dogs. :D I like yours with the startfish.

If my GF saw your avatar with the 2 dachsies, she would go crazy.

She loves those little guys. She had a dachsie/ chihauhua mix when she was growing up.

My pic is Farley (as in Chris Farley) on the coast of Mendocino, Northern California last summer. He was so proud of his starfish.

My little goby eats flake food as well. I don't think they are very fussy at all.
