i have seen that way to often...and thats why I always put my 2 cents in when I go into her store, because I don't want to see it happen here...when I was working there (I separated from the company before I moved to IV) some customers would complain about me because I would refuse to sell them fish...I always made sure to ask the right questions & come to an educated decision before releasing a live animal to them. Even some employees didn't like the way I did things...just because its a big sale...so what, the fish would die anyway, so why bother with it? The customer will just come back angry saying the fish died...no, I'd much rather educate, and happily refuse a sale. lol...

there is 2 local reef stores here not counting petcos and when buying good fish they will ask for a water sample 1 of the stores has a 10 day garrente on the fish providing your water meets specs I would like to post pics of what petco fishes look like (BAD) and the funy thing is they charge more

I think this trate is a rareity and with todays economy it will be even harder to find. Karma to you for the conviction.

However I always hear people say you caint have this fish if....... then i see a tank doing great with that exact set up. Sometimes i think it is luck of the draw on how one fish will interact with another fish or corals.

I hear that. my first job was a a pet store and i was to young to work legal i was 12-14 when i worked there i would clean the kennels and all the display tanks water changes ect. my pay was what i wanted from the store that keep me going but when i sold fish I sold them only if i thaut they would live and when i sold them new setups I would only sell them feeder fish and tell them to come back in a month (This did not gover well usualy with both buyer and store)

Well thank you Sean! And Hackem, I do agree that some fish can be bad...the trick is, you have to go the day of delivery, and buy them before they get released (still in the bag) because its once they're in the system that they tend to go bad. But it all depends on how they maintain the tanks...some stores don't care enough to know what kind of system they have, some stores (like mine) do...I have been fortunate enough to be able get all my fish from them the day of delivery, and they are all thriving. Its a huge task to maintain 12 or more SW tanks in a 4-8 hour shift in between customers...awe, now I feel bad bagging Petco...lol...

lol... I haven't had the pleasure of going to Mex yet, but I've heard a lot about it! Yeah, there's not much to do here (I'm actually in Imperial), we only have a few bars so I guess it's a good thing I don't drink like I use to anymore! Happy to say though that I survived my first summer out here! We moved here from San Diego, so it was a HUGE difference in weather, surroundings, and people...
