Everything I've read about the Current Nano Skimmer is that it's a piece of crap!

The Rio Nano has good ratings and will be the one I'm using as soon as it gets here...

Ironman (or anybody else!), here's 2 questions :

What do you think about my earlier question "But what about using Rio Nano Skimmer along with the Penguin? That'd change the water like 20 times an hour! My son thinks that'd knock things around..."

Wouldn't adding the Rio help flow and give us at least SOME skimming? Every other good skimmer I've seen is for a MUCH larger tank, and is out of our current budget (>$60) for the 10g tank.

The other question is very basic. HOW does everyone make it so that their tank info gets posted on every post?? I've looked all over and didn't see how to do it! For that matter, the pic I tried to use for our avatar never finished uploading from the picnik tool. It kept on "fluffing clouds, etc" for 20 min before I gave up! :snore1:

Thanks to everyone for helping out! :)

Click on UserCP, then click on Edit Signature.

I think you can use the Rio Nano with the Biowheel.

Thanks for the opinion Reron! How about it folks, Does anyone else have input on the Rio as a skimmer? I figure it won't hurt to put the charcoal cartridge in it comes with for some extra filtering..., but will it skim well enough for our 10g?

BTW, what is this I keep seeing about adding a mesh pad (or something else?) to "polish" the water?? Can anyone explain that to us?

Later! Appreciate all the great folks here!

Welcome to 3reef scuba! Spent some time in Rolla, West Plaines, Licking and the surrounding area(have family there). Nice area. Not too big a fan of St. Louis(city life).
