    Light

I currently just have the light that came with the tank. On the pic i have my Refugium light which are small t5s. I should have my LED coral lights set coming in 2maro@ I hope. "quarantine tank set up" mazaj said this would be a must. I heard that small tanks are hard to keep up with is this true? I have a 30 gal tank. would that be hard to keep up with ? I have a retofit light with 2 Metal light 250 w and 2 34 in t5 lights . I just don't want to deal with the high energy cost and be green. So ill stick with LEDS .
As for coral i was thinking about Water melon coral to start with.

Smaller can be tougher because mistakes are magnified by the smaller volume. The small volume makes it harder to keep the parameters stable.

Hey how goes it? At least you have some aquarium knowledge from all the freshwater experience you have. This should come somewhat easy for you i think. Welcome to your new addiction. I would wait for everything to cycle out and then add some Clean Up crew crabs and snails then maybe a chromis or two. then some softies. Once you got those goin its time to start filling that baby up.

Most run the refugium lights on an opposite schedule to the main tank. This helps with maintaining a more stable pH.

hey welcome to 3reef we have great forums here. i to started my first saltwater tank and i love it.

a small tip that you might here is take it slow. a saltwater tank all ready cost a lot of money going to fast might make you just spend more. and sometimes that might turn you off to the saltwater tanks.
