Hi, I'm new to this site. I have a 20 gallon tank with penty of live rock, a branch coral, mushrooms and a plate coral, a cleaner shrimp, some clowns, a bicolour angel, chromis, pseudo chromis and some other things but I'm not sure what they are. The tank has been set up about a year.
All was going well until summer holidays - I think my tank got a bit warm and my beautiful plate coral stopped blowing himself up. He still pokes his fingers out but has shrunk to a fraction of his beautiful former glory. Any suggestions??

What kind of lighting do you have... My plates started out great with 28 watts over 12 gallon with pc lighting. Then slowly started losing their color until I finally took them to my buddies lfs where one didn't make it out of 3....

Glad to see you found way here.

What do your water params look like? --- I would think very difficult to keep stable with that bioload you have in there.

I would suggest increasing frequency and amount of water changes and seeing if things don't improve.

    Good Luck.

    ;D

maybe the water parameters are too high for it since there is alot of fish?

Sorry guys - it's a 50 gallon tank. I have only got the basic fluro lighting including a ble one for corals - a very simple setup. I do have a protein skimmer. The tank may have gone to about 85 (this is only a guess) but everything else was fine. Oh, I also have a beautiful blue linkia starfish just to add some character. I love him. Can I resurect my plate?
