    Hello! I'm Nic!

    I just began cycling my first ever tank (55 gal) as of yesterday. I plan on leaving it as a fish-only tank for awhile... I hope no one will mind answering questions not specifically regarding reef tanks here!

    So I bought my tank and equipment very cheap off Craigslist, but then yesterday I spent $75 on just salt(!) and water testing chemicals! Eep! So yes, fish only for a while! This is the budget aquarium! :)

    Hi Nic,

    Welcome to the reef. I am a newbie as well. Back in '88 I had a 75 gal. fish only tank and I enjoyed it lots. I am getting back into it because my kids 5 and 8 want a tank that has Nemo in it. I got my 20 gal. off of Craigslist as well. I am still collecting the parts filter, protein skimmer, etc. You are a lot further along than I, but I hope to be there soon. The reef has some great members with bookoo experience. I think it is a great place to be. Hope you enjoy your stay.
