1. Instant Ocean SeaClone Protein Skimmer

2.Zoe Marine Vitamin

3.toplex Concentrated Phytoplankton

4.Garlic Xtreme

5.Purple Up Coraline Algae Accelerator

garlic extreme is excellent way to increase your fishes desire to eat. good to have around. purple up you really dont need if your either using all live rock , or if you have dry base rock, an established piece of lr from another tank will do the same. your other questions, i wil llet others answer

 

You can skip just about everything on that list (except for the skimmer of which I know nothing about). You don't need the vitamins or the phytoplankton unless you have corals in your tank that use them and since you're new to the hobby, I'm guessing that you don't yet have much in your tank?

Garlic is useful but I don't know why you can just use garlic from the grocery store rather than high priced "aquarium" garlic.

i been out of the salt water game for a while and these products i was thinking of using..im just kinda not sure about that brand of skimmer

 

I just did a quick Google scan of that skimmer and it doesn't seem to have the best reviews. What is your price range and tank size? Maybe we can help you find one.

 

Check out the skimmer forum. There are TONS of threads regarding what skimmer is best for a particular tank. I'm sure that you'll be able to get a lot of information there!

I wouldn't buy anything on that list except maybe the zoe, but I prefer selcon and vitachem over it. The skimmer is bottom of the barrel quality wise . . . there are way better products out there. What are you planning on having in your tank that needs phyto? Garlic extreme is way overpriced. A large bottle of minced garlic in water has the exact same ingredients and is only $3 (but its not as concentrated). Purple up is a waste of money. Coraline will grow as long as you keep the calcium, magnesium and alk levels in check.
