I have had a few FW tanks in the past and have always wanted a SW set up. You always hear how hard they are, well after trolling here and on a few other forums it doesn't seem as bad as people say. Not to say is easy either.

I think I am going to start out with a 10g with either a Aquaclear 70 or 110 and make it into a HOB fuge. Kinda leaning toward the 110 so I can put the heater in. Would like to go with LED's not sure what would be better 14 or 24 DIY dimmable kit from aquastyle and a nano koralia 425 power head. How does this equipment sound?

I was wanting to do a 30 or larger tank, but just don't have the space now and I might be moving in 6 months.

As far a livestock, soft corals, paly's and zoa's maybe a clam. Of course a cuc and reef safe hermits(if there is such a thing, I have read lots of different views on this) A goby and pistol shrimp team.

Well, I look forward to finaly put rock, sand and water in the tank in a few weeks, take my time and keep learning about this addicting hobby.

Welcome! Definitely go with a pistol/goby pair. They are the funniest most amusing pair. You will enjoy them! Especially watch them the first hour they are together. Making their home getting to know eachother. Quite exciting!

    Thanks.

I am looking forward to the combo, the videos I have seen are great. I will def, have to watch the first hours they are together.

Anyone know what would be good for the set up the 14 LED or 24? I want to order those soon.

Thanks again, great forum with tons of great info!!
