hi sorry for the late reply as i been working lots :( i had a salt spike a little while ago after moving the stuff around in my tank (as i thought a horseshoe crab had died) and over night the salt went from a nice 1.022 to 1.035 which killed my Emperor Anglefish which i was annoyed at but i got the water back to a 1.022 but since then they've just been sitting on the sand and only swim about when all the lights are off but ive brought a uv sterilizer now and the water has got a lot clearer and the clowns look a lot better there swimming around a lot more so hopefully and yea ill try to get the pic up

how fast did you change the salinity.. what do you mean by a salt spike? what are you using to replace evaporated water?

it went up over night from 1.022 to 1.035 and fresh R/O water so the only thing i can think of that salt settled into the sand from when i first set the tank up and when i was sifting through the sand looking for both horseshoe crabs it mixed up any left over salt that haddnt disvolved proply thats the only thing i can gess that or someone dumped a load of salt in there when i wasnt looking lol oh and i took it down over 3-4 days i brought it down to 1.030 then the next day 1.026 then the next 1.024 then finaly 1.022

p.s. before i had the salt spike i was using a floting hydromiter which probably played its part in it as there inaccuret most of the time i now have a proper refractometer so i get a accuret reading
