Hey all! I'm Joel. Been keeping FOWLR for maybe 10 years, and just rebuilt my 75g system over the summer as I'm getting my ducks in a row for reefing.

Been a member at another board for years, but sadly almost all discussion has been off-topic lately, so I'm looking for a new home. After nosing around it seems like this is a pretty cool little community. :)

    I've got...
    1 yellow tang
    2 chromis
    2 ocellaris clowns
    1 black cap basslet
    1 pep. shrimp

Next up, I'm going to start adding frags... aiming towards primarily SPS. (That huge shroom in the middle of the tank will be going bye-bye)

Dunno what else to say. Here's a shot of my tank... not too exciting, but it's a start I guess!

One more thing I've gotta ask because I'm curious as heck... how'd the site get the name "3reef"??? :tongue3:

Welcome to 3Reef! Why are you getting rid of the shroom?

Eh, just doesn't do much for me anymore. Got it as a freebie 1" clipping a few years ago and it kept me satisfied when I had NO lighting, but now that I finally have MH, time to move onto bigger and better things. Don't get me wrong, I do like some shrooms and especially rics and zoanthids... just this guy is pretty drab. If/when it goes, I'll make sure it finds a new home... on the other hand probably won't hurt anything to just move it to a corner of the tank until things start to get crowded.

Exactly. Keep the shroom. Frag it, join a local reef club, and trade the frags for other stuff ;) Keeping corals is a never ending cycle ;)

ha, a co-worker of mine is a fellow reefer... surprising as there are only 50 or so people in our building. anyway he's told me that he's going to give me a ton of frags from his tank so I can be his backup supply if his tank ever crashes. love it :D

Nice tank, That's cool you have someone to trade frags with. Living in a crappy city, like I do it's hard to find people who want to trade frags or that even have a reef tank. Keep us updated on the tank.
