I seriously doubt that is the case.Be aware of minimum tank sizes for fish you choose.;)

I was thinking maybe the shrimp is too big for the tank not so much the fish.

Were the fish sick? Everyone keeps telling me there must have been something wrong with my fish but they seemed fine.
What did you do with your coral banded shrimp? I keep thinking my fire shrimp, as pretty as she is, must go if I'm to keep any fish in my tank.

I haven't yet but keep thinking that is what I need to do. Have you ever had problems with shrimps killing? Othe people say there must have been a problem with the fish even tho they seemed fine. This newbie is a lil frustrated.

You must choose wisely in such a small tank.Cleaner shrimps will not kill a healthy fish imo.Coral banded shrimp of course are a whole different ballgame. You will need to limit yourself to a couple very small fish in order to succeed.Fish are dirty and quite aggressive when crammed together but some species adapt better then others.Add to that the different personalities/sex of each fish and mayhem can ensue leaving you broke and frustrated.
I would remove the shrimp.IMO They can be a pain in general and steal food, and even iritate some corals in a small tank.
Stick to tried and true species that can with stand a newbies attempt at finding a balance. The more animals you add the harder you will work and the more you will pay.It can certainly be done.I have had a sw aquarium in my home for over 30 years now.:)
    Its supposed to be relaxing.

I found that more reclusive shy fish do better in small tanks. they feel better due to the small space given because normally they don't venture out in open so having limited space to themselves makes it feel safe and secure. as for the coral banded thing yes, they will eat your fish if they can catch then. fire shrimp don't normally go after healthy fish but will go after a sick one if they sense one is about to drop.
