It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I sincerely want to see what the issue is with the sps.

I know you have had the cyano issue going on and I thought the bio-pellets would have either resolved that or made it worse.

How long has the issue been going on?

I just had that happen to my little fishies nori feeding clip. magnet corroded and tank went to heck. Carbon saved it, but dang, now I need a DYI nori clip that doesn't require me reaching in the tank

I would of thought the magnets would be plastic coated or something. My rack that holds probes had the magnet come loose two days ago. It has a metal looking type coating on it too. Sorry to hear about tank problems, but it's something to make us all aware of.

Every piece of SPS I have, acro, moni, psomacora, poccilopora, etc, just dies on all its horizontal surfaces. If I turn my red monti cap vertical it starts to regrow, my acros had burnt tips, probably from higher than want alk with BP.

Red Slime has been pretty solid since November but its getting better now. Still more than I want to see though.

The are covered a little bit of epoxy and then set inside acrylic. I would have never thought the eshoppe rack would fail by looking at its design.

That's no big deal. There is a local guy that was having similar SPS problems. Took his bio pellet reactor offline, and everything went back to normal.

IMO, after dosing vodka for a couple of years, I ended up with a nitrate/phosphate imbalance, since they are not consumed at the same rate. Even though I tested very low for phosphate, I had to assume that there was a lot present. After months of running Phosguard and GFO I'm starting to see results.

Its possible with the biopellets that you are stripping too much phosphate, which will also cause problems. In either case, you need a very small amount for corals to grow. Too much and you have algae. Too little, they starve and die.

There is a good article on Advanced Aquarist and some Youtube videos from Red Sea that explain the ratio of nitrate and phosphate.
