My calcium measured 600+ today and i'm worried for my tank. I tested the carbonate hardness and it was within normal limits. I researched and read that high calcium levels were okay as long as the alkalinity(carbonate hardness) were equivalent. Would everyone agree with this or have I read wrong? I'm not sure how my calcium levels got so high. Any suggestions on how i can lower the calcium or will everything be fine?

I'm dealing with something similar myself right now. But what you have read and researched is correct. But it's referring to it being equivalent so that it stays consistent. If they are on different ends of the spectrum, you will have less consistency. One will drop way too fast etc.... There is a strange relationship between all of them. Alk,Mag,Cal. This should help a little. I'm going to go read it again...

Should be fine, check you salt mix as suggested, but it will just drop on its own slowly over time. As long as you aren't dosing anything, then it will return to normal levels and you can restart a maintence routine.

+1, never dose anything unless you test for it.
