Well here's an update to the 34g. Added a few corals and a few fish. The grouper is getting HUGE so I'll have to move him any day now (I think he ate 1 of the 2 velvet damsels I had!). Once I move him out, the last fish I'll be getting is a baby porcupine puffer. No luck as of yet finding one but I will (watch out pufferchick! ;) ). Well enough with the talking, below are a few pics...

you do realize that a porcupine puffers not reef safe right? it'll eat your inverts, and as i understand it will require a 90+ gallon tank.

and yes for the sake of that grouper get him a new home. panther groupers require a 200+ gallon tank iirc.

Agreed on both of your points. We've had a total of 6 puffers and we've all bought them as babies and moved them to a 5k gallon pond once they get bigger. We haven't had a problem with any yet but I do see your point. They don't last any more than a few months since they're too small at the time to go into the pond.

The grouper was tiny when I got him. In the past month or 2 he's grown so much though. The last grouper we had took about 5-6 months to hit "puberty" (grow an inch or so) and we then moved him to a 90g before going to the pond. This one is growing faster but nonetheless still small. I'll give him like a month or so before I transfer him.

Thanks for the input though. Keeping the fishies happy is the main goal.
