High KH and Low PH

    Hi I have High KH and low PH. I did a complete water change and i still dont know what is going on. Is there anything I can do to fix this. the water changes dont seem to help and I no sure what else to do.


    KH 16 degrees
    PH 7.7

    Test your calcium and magnesium. Since these elements directly affect KH and PH, I suspect that one or both of these will be off.

    IS there anything that I can add to the tank to reduce this?

    To reduce what? In order to keep your dkh and your ph at the right levels and steady, you need to keep your magnesium and calcium levels at the right levels and steady. You can't fix your problem until you figure out where the problem lies. Get your calcium and magnesium levels tested and post them here.

    I had the same problem until I got my Mg over 1450 and my calcium over 400. Now my pH hovers at around 8.05 to 8.15, dKH 10-11 and calcium usually over 420
