    Had my CA and Mag tested for the first time today since settign the tank up 2.5 months ago. THey didnt give me exact number but a range
    CA 400-450
    Mag 1800-1900

    Use corallife salt and do not dose anything. Is my Mag to high anything to be worried about?

    Yes its high I like mine around 1400. I would question that reading. I too use Coralife and have to dose quite a bit of Mag to achieve 1400. I would say either they have a bad kit,didn't test it properly,or you have a bad batch of salt. I would first try mixing the salt you have left over for it may just not be mixed properly in the container then I would purchase a Mag. test kit and double check it before panicking. The Mag. should fall on its own and the level they have given you should not do any damage.;)

    Thanks Vinny, they used a red sea pro kit but the kid was a younger guy who I think knows more about FW than SW. He was telling me something about high mag messing up my fishes insides. Everything looks healthy though the fish swim and eat like pigs and the xenia is pulsing and even survived an accidental vacuuming lol.

    Your welcome. I have raised my Mag. to 1700 before when I was battling Bryopsis and it didn't hurt any of my animals.;) Good luck.

    A mag level that high will kill your snails usually, if they are fine and not lethargic it's probably not that high IMO

    Nope if anything they are thriving! Always finding eggs on the rock and walls and very active!
