high specific gravity

    alright so it says 1.028... not 1.128
    If its 1.028 then you are fine, if its 1.128 then it is best to not take drastic measures. just slowly lower it by taking out about 1-5% saltwater per day and replacing with very low SG saltwater or else rodi

    none of this makes sense the original post states 1.028, the quote used in xiztence states 1.128. The first question that needs addressing is wich salinity is it. Then what are you using to read it. Then how to fix it.

    he edited the first post it used to say 1.128, i figured it was a new tank and setup went horribly wrong or something

    I was talking as if he set it up @ 1.128, which 1/2 the tank changed for fresh would lead to approx 1.064 (assuming linear nature of SG, which isn't quite the case).....this is why parent posts shouldn't be edited once they're responded to.

    1.028 sg is easy to get away from but it has to be done slowly. all you need to do is take out a small amount of tank water(depending on the size of tank) and replace with as much RO water as taken out. i would do this every 5 hrs or so untill you hit the s.g you want.

    Well, salinty can be dropped as fast as you want, its raising it that has to be done slow.
