Upon setting up my tank I hit a slight snag. I forgot to think about how my 30 gallon tank was going to fit underneath my 55 gallon. Ive taken measurements and the tank will definitely fit. It's just the matter of getting it in there.

The only screws I can find on the stand are on the top. I could take the top off and get the stand in but then once its in there its stuck for good. Not moving with a full tank of water on top of it. So I guess that's option 1.

Option 2: Cut the middle brace in the front with a saw and try to reattach it with brackets. The thing I'm worried about here is that the saw lines will eat up some of the space and I wont be able to get a tight fit upon replacing the brace.

Option 3: Saw out the back holes and make a large square to get the sump in and out. Not sure if this will compromise the structural integrity of the stand.

Option 4: Whatever you guys can think of that I haven't.

So let me know what you guys think will work best.

To assemble our sump.... we went in through the top...

Your right about not making many changes afterwards...

I say the back. My 110 sits on a particle board stand with the back 2/3 out. The center post on yours looks to be supportive, so I'd leave that. But hey, I know next to nothing about carpentry!:-/

You can always cut a side door in the stand so you will have a access door to pull it in and out easily if needed.

The shelves are glued in I think. It was a custom job. This guy was some sort of ninja carpenter that rivaled the skills of jesus himself

Well the side door would be a little hard with the shelves I'm thinking. I Believe I'm going to cut out the back and add some 2x4s for support that will be mobile for when I want to tank the tank out. stand will be on those furniture sliders for hardwood floors so I think it will be easy enough to move and access from the back.
