I believe it is Asterina. Look on the underside. If it has a white "belly" it is a good asterina. They multiply like crazy so enjoy.

    Baby Asterina for sure...

Have no idea if bad kind or benign. Pull it and check carefully to make sure no more...

Never had any luck ridding my tank of them...so over time have learned to live with them.

I think my wrasses help keep population down.

I don't even bother to pull them now and amount of them in tank seems to have stabilized over period of time. Food source availability?

Here is pic of them working over one side of tank. You can easily see where they have been.

Dudeman, those are from Australia right?

The reason I say that, they have the boomarang look on them, almost like going into a Outback Steak House.

I love them, they are so cool in the shape they have.

It looks like a star fish that had some legs eaten off by some fish and they seem to be growing back.

    That is amazing.

I'm learning so much from this site.

I have a bunch of this species hanging out in my 20H tank. I haven't seen them causing any problems, but I've heard that some can chomp on SPS.

And Cornface, a) awesome name (i'd love to hear the story some time) and b) welcome and I hope you'll keep on learning from and loving the 3Reef experience...

We have seen the like before..Ignore him and he will go away...just looking for responses. Thought was just a bit slow at first...am now convinced just looking for a reaction...

Some people just have toooo much time on hands, or are so pitifully lonely they have to do such.

May even be same person who liked to do this in past.

Let him post away...don't answer...and he will eventually go away... :baby:

    Don't feel bad.

Had me going for a while...

If any doubt, look at other "Corn Threads.."

    Is sad.

maybe he just needs a great big hug...
(and by hug i mean swift kick in the arse)

i know that i've relied on the 3reef community to get me started in this hobby and it's very not cool to see someone try to take advantage of it just to satisfy their own questionable sense of "humor"...

Thank for the responses. Most of them anyway...LOL.. I was yahooing with geekdiesel and talking about it.. It was on the base of my new frogspawn lastnight. But today I couldn't find it... After I was done I went exploring with my led flashlight and found it hiding on the underbelly of my tonga branch... I took the pics and showed my kids, then pitched it ... Hopefully making the right decision.. Geekdiesel said when in doubt throw it out and thats what I did....
