    help! I need an ID on this crab ive hade it in my rocks since I startred a year ago. Finaly seen it out and about and netted it. Wondering what type and if potentally reef safe or not? I have some corals and they seem to not be botherd by him (he's been there a year).
    just wonderin if not reef safe wanna bring him back to LFS

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I would take him back to the LFS or place him in a sump if you have one. All crabs have the potential to be non reef safe and if they have black tip claws all the more reason to be cautious. He is cute though.

    Possibly a gorilla crab, although I don't know much about crabs. Due to his claws, I would assume not reef safe and that he is a predator.

    In the sump until you get a positive ID.
