Hey all I need some help Iding this little bugger.
I have recently noticed it in my tank, and about the same time frame I have lost an entire Zoa colony and lost all but 2 heads on a second in about 3 weeks.these heads are completely disappearing, I'm not noticeing damaged skirts or anyhting like that , just over night one or more heads just disappear.
I did some fresh water dipping on the zoas and 2 rocks in the tank, and here is the results

    So a couple of questions:
1st..Do you think this is the culprit eating my Zoas?
2nd.. How do I get rid of them? Assumeing the answer is freshwater dipping how far do I go?
Im running a 55 gal with 40 lbs of live sand mix and about 90 lbs of live rock.
2 good Zoa colonys left ( I hope to keep it that way)
    Hammer
    Torch
    Candy cane
    1 mushroom
    Tomini Tang
    Clown Fairy wrasse
pair of false perc clowns and a diamond goby
misc snails and 3 hermits. Got rid of the peppermint shrimp about a week ago thinking theey were eating them as it started about the time I put them in , but that wasnt the case,
thanks for your help in advance

Looks like collonistas or "mini turbos"........ Beneficial to your system.

I have those too and think they are harmless turbos but I did own a zoa colony 2 years ago that died off the same way Arvins described. I hope they are only turbos....

Those snails aren't eating your zoanthids. As mission said, your Bucket-O-Snails are all Collonista species, except I see a single Stomatella in the middle. They are all algae eaters.

    Cheers,

    Don

Highly possible. It is very easy and common to see snails spawn in home aquariums.
