I have been lurking around the forums for a little while now and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Kevin, I'm 16 years old living in Central Florida. New to the hobby but lovin' it. ;D

Thanks! I live in Ocala. I do, it's a 10 gallon with 2 damsels, snails, hermit crabs, and a few small pieces of coral. There's not much in it (waiting on some $$$). :p

Welcome, 3reef has come to acquire a nice population of Central Floridians. I think when I joined years back I was only one of a couple on here. Ocala's kinda far from Melbourne, but still... Lol

Welcome(again), you'll learn lots, as long as you research and listen to the experienced folk lurking round these parts. Damsels might become a little hostile in such close quarters, what kind of damsels do you have ? Of corse every case is different but I've had 2 in twice that volume with no luck either time, and it was only one at a time! Lol.

They are yellowtails. I had three, but one died a month ago or so due to not eating. The two I have now seem pretty happy, but who knows. Pretty soon here I'm going to rehome them and get a yellow clown goby.

the yellow tails are probably one of the most mellow of the damsels. Welcome to 3reef! It's always great to have younger reefers here :)

Just because mellow and yellow rhyme doesn't mean you should use THAT adjective. My experience was completely opposite. My yellow damsel killed my clown, and made it so that my goby never came out for a year. I took it out when he went to attack my clown I put in to replace the one he killed. I couldn't imagine 3 in a 10, lol we'll 2 now.

But that's racism towards fish, I'm sure there's some chill yellow tails on a reef somewhere, just wasn't in mine! ;)

I actually had a pretty calm Yellowtail at one point. It started getting bullied by some other fish, so I returned it. I was really surprised that it couldn't defend itself.
