Well then go get a few glasses out of your cabinets and smash them on the floor.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that 10 gallon was tempered....

I went to drill it and it pretty much exploded! LOL

It was just a spare 10g, but yeah I wanted to try and hook up a real overflow system instead of the diy pvc one. Oh well, not a huge loss and I did get some practice drilling. Got about halfway through before it went boom.

haha. That's unfortunate. But at least it was an extra tank! :)

One of the ways to see if the glass is tempered or not

    Get items below:
    -a pair of polarized glasses
    -a laptop computer

If you look through the back window of your car, you see some strange pattern with the polarized glasses. All the car back glass is tempered.

Now make the computer desktop all white. ie: empty window on your browser. Place it inside of the empty tank that you wanna drill. Take a look at the display through the glass that you wanna drill. If you see some strange looking wave pattern, the glass is tempered.

This is only one of the tricks, its ALWAYS a good idea to call the mfg.
