I plan on making a HOB fuge for my 20G Tall. I'm not going to get a sump so a fuge in that is out the door. Would an Aquaclear 30 or 50 be enough to reap the benefits of an HOB fuge?

I plan on putting Live sand, LR and some chaeto in there. That is all I need right?

That should work fine. I would skip the LR and keep it in the DT that way the chaeto has more room to grow.

A little rubble in the bottom certainly wont hurt. Just be sure your macro has good room to grow as thats the main benifit of a fuge.
