I would be very worried leaving my setup running for a week if I was having these types of issues. Unless you have a low and high water level sensors hooked up to shut down your pump in case.

I am worried. I don't have a high water sensor/ cut off yet. My wife will be home but I don't want to leave this on her. That's why I want to get this resolved before I have to go.

    Looks OK to me.

It also looks as though your intank skimming box is quite thin, was I seeing that right? shouldnt matter however.
I really don't know specifically enough about the stockman standpipe however, and the the adjustments with that air vent tube on the air vent.

Mine has a large vent that's capped- but then has a 1/4" hlole in it, and currently no airline tube.

ON my HOB part, the intake goes all the way down nearly to the bottom og the tank, but it takes it's water form the surface as it falls into the 'intank overflow' part.
the 1 upper 'u' tube is 1.5" and thru out. It is Schedule PVC, lets no olight in, so no algae problems, I think anyways.

My point is, if I had one, was that your style of OF should also be able to set it and forget it. And I'm sure it will keep it's siphon in a power out- like mine does.

Could the problem stil be with the 2 tubes, having less velocity thru them, than the 1 tube by itself? Which would always pull any bubbles right on thru the higher velocity.

It's really hard to tell form the video but as far as I can see it looks ok, setup wise.

So do you have an aqua lifter?

I have watched your video of you overflow system and I really like it. I wish I could do something like that. I really wish j could drill the tank. But neither are in the cards right now.

I do not think the u tubes are the issue and If I were to only use 1 tube then I would have to dial back my pump almost by half. But since I am going to do a wc tonight I will give it a try. It would essentially give me more flow to hook my chiller up to the main pump and just come off my manifold but that's another thread.

I really think that the issue is either the construction of the standpipes or their tuning. With the tuning I did not to long ago they are running good right now. But that can change.

I do not have an aqua lifter. Why?

I know you said those u tubes were clean. They look dirty, I know if I don't keep mine spotless or close to it I start to have drain issues pretty quick. Also my single utube will handle 800 gph but I have it turnned back to about 650ish. What is your supply pump rated for?

My return pump is rated at 1325gph. I know they look dirty. I clean them every week and am getting ready to clean them again tonight. What you see is coralline build up on them. I would have to soak them to clean that. Unfortunately it gets a lot of light.

I can take one utube out of commission but I will have to dial back my return pump quite a bit.

Yeah that's a ton of flow, you need both those tubes..

I guess those caps and air hoses just cut down on the overflow noise?

That's cool you clean yours out often. Mine get dirty quick and the basket inside my tank for the overflow gets just as dirty. I've cut way back on my feeding and its helping me out slowly but surly.

Have you taken the caps off your standpipes just to see how it drains without them?
