I have a HOB Bak-Pak skimmer that has started filling up too much on the intake side, then spilling out onto my floor on the output side through the skimmer cup. I have had it about 7 months now and have not come across this problem and I'm not quite sure how to fix it. Can someone give me a suggestion, please. Thanks.

I have no experience with HOB skimmers but you might want to try to adjust the airtube line to lower water level. if that doesnt help I would take the unit totally part and clean all parts in sink with hot water and toothbursh, reassemble and see if that works.

yea, the airline tube was shut completely and it was still going strong. Taking it apart was my next guess, but I am so busy with family today! I figure it can wait til tonight. I have another filter going so it should be alright.

You want to have the air valve open if its all the way closed it will run strong because its just as a powerhead wud push the water.. let air in and it will slow it down.. when I open mine all the way it runs slow and there is thousands of bubbles but when I close it it almost over flows from the return

Mine just did that again too, stupid POS! The skimmer outlet gets clogged up and will cause that. The bubble reducing sponge that goes inside the outlet elbow will get gunked up and will need to get cleaned. That's usually what causes my overflowing anyhow.
