    Having a sump is nice, but you can still do allot with a sump less system. I have an ATO and Kalk drip hooked directly to the DT with no issue. The Reef Octopus HOB skimmer has a surface skimmer so the surface doesn't build up a film. The downside is all the equipment is in the DT and there is no place for a refugium.
