Doesn't look like a chalice to me either, my guess is a Turbinaria?

Not sure, I don't have much depth with coral keeping yet so I just assume it is what I can match it up with online. You guys are thinking that its something else? Whatever it is, it is growing very fast, the fragments that broke off while placing which I stuck in crevices in my LR have all done well, they went from 2 eyes to 4 eyes in about two months and the main colony has really opened up and started to grow and put out feeder/stinger tentacles so I'm really happy over all.

I really like the look of these and how they grow, always have. Glad to now know what they are called, Turbinaria.

I see where you are coming from with some of this pictures I'm seeing on google, like this:

But if you also google, Hollywood Stunner Chalice, you'll get a pretty good picture of a larger version then what I have in my tank.

Like I said though, I'm still so new to this hobby and I don't have much experience so all of your guess's are probably better than mine! Lol. I just wanted to say this is the fastest, hardiest coral I've encountered, although not much to look at for other spectators, I've always found it to be one of my favorite organisms in my tank!

Again, here is a picture of mine

And here is a picture of a tiny rock that I've glued a frag from my Hammer Coral colony to as well as a small fragment of the Chalice that snapped off while I was placing the coral. It's hard to see but you can see a brown spot with a few mouths on the bottom of the rock. Started with only two mouths, now has four in a matter of 2 or 3 months!

You can also see a stomatella worm attached to the Hammer Coral frag(its a calcareous tube worm that spits out a string of slime and catches detritus, you can also see my fighting conch hiding beneath the sand in the far left corner of the tank)

Lol when I first started my tank, I wanted everything covered with coralline, but now it's like Whoa too much purple! Lol <3

You think and that it's not the chalice?? I feel like many things at my LFS are mislabeled. I live in the mountains of NC soo.... one can only hope right? Either way it's still a very nice and hardy piece.
