Yup! That's the way it looks to me. Is it possible? Can my Skunk Cleaner shrimp fertilize it's own eggs?

It is the only shrimp in the tank, and to me it looks like he is full of green eggs. I know that the species is hemaphroditic, but can the self propagate? My understanding was that a minimum of 2 shrimp would be needed.

mmm. No. Black spots on my skunk mean that it will molt within the next 48 hours. And that my friend is clockwork.

However, I'm refering to thousands of tiny minty to neon green colored eggs in its belly. You could actually distinguish them as eggs.

The eggs won't be fertilized, but will be great food for the tank!

Well, if you have fish in your tank, I am not sure if they will fertilize, I am pretty sure they will just get eaten and never hatch.

I've got several cleaner shrimp, and they have had tons of eggs when they were still getting to mature size, molted a ton within just a few weeks as well. But I never got any baby shrimplets out of it haha. I was kinda bummed actually.

But, heck, if you don't got fish and it's just a bunch of LR and shrimp, you might have a different outcome!

Keep me updated, I am curious now.
