homemade fish food

    After heading 40 lb. of shrimp last night to put in the freezer ;D and finding a hand full of small squid mixed in with the shrimp, i thought id try my hand at making some homemade fish food, and was looking for some input from some that have tried this before, :confused: how much of each and best way to chop or grind it, the good and the bad. the list of goodies i have so far to put in it are.:)

    shrimp
    scallops
    squid
    oysters
    crab meat
    broccoli
    spinach
    garlic clove

    sounds like a great menu list. i would imagine just grind it all up together in a blender or food processer and freeze it in thin sheets.

    If you didn't make the food already, I can give you my ideas that I've gotten from other 'reefers'....I soak my fresh seafoods in RO water, then depending on the type of seafood, I pulse the blender, adding SW to keep it moving, to make different sized pieces for the whole tank, some seafood blends more quickly than others, you just have to kind of judge it. I also add garlic juice, soaked and rinsed vegie flake, frozen rotifers, a chunk of frozen Cycl-o-peze and a vitamin supplement. When I thaw it to feed, every other feeding, I add Selcon for the fatty acids. The garlic makes it smell rather good, since you're using fresh seafood.

    Nop i did not make it yet, i am not in a big hurry, 8) i was waiting on as much input here as i can get,:) and then take all the best ideas and blend it into some but kicking food.;D
