pics of dyed silicone from purple primer. i found out that the primer wont degrade the silicone over time. so the best i can hope for is to wash the tank out 5 or 6 times and hope for the best with my livestock. i was tild they will be fine... but i guess we'll find out...

    the tank!

yep, sat exactly the same as a freshwater for 4 or 5 years... i know the stand looks rickety but at about 175 lbs with 1/4 inch cast iron joining plates it can hold all of the weight of rock water and the tank itself... why do you ask?

i was thinking about building a casing for the bottom soon... also there will be a 6 ft long curtain that hangs down and covers the cubby holes in the front.

Hoochy'..brother i dont waana seem rude here, but you realize by the time water/sand/rock/tank weight/ , you will most likely be in excess of about 1,300 pnds ?.

And this stand that your puttin it on ' is not made for that tank at all , your asking that "center table" type thing you have to hold all that ?

i know... it held 950lbs of water 140lbs of gravel plus 100 lbs of slate in my South American Ciclid tank that i had before i moved and decidied to go salt. with live rock i planned on adding maybe another 20 or 30 lbs more for a little extra live rock.

Ok, I was wondering, it seems awefully risky, (imo)
( never seen this done/attempted with a tank so large )
