I just wanted to clarify that I stand by what I said, but I wasn't trying to be a jerk. I have a dwarf angle in my reef. I knew when I bought her she could be a problem and the day may come when I have to take her back. But even if I get 0 for her I knew the risk when I got her.

Thats the difference though, those that prepare and understand risks or potential problems and those that pick something out the tank just because.

Now I'm not saying the OP did that and that is not directed at any person in particular.

    Me neither.

I think horse shoe crabs are cool in the right environment. I almost never hear someone say they lived long enough to out grow a tank, so that is cool as well.

Many a time I wanted to bring home that Nautilus, or tempted to buy seahorse and just work it out when I got home. I can probably think of a dozen other temptations.

    Very true. I agree completely.

I only bought the Maroon Clown because I was told by the LFS employees that it would be OK with my Clowns. Which it wasn't. I was new to the hobby, had no one to ask, and didn't use the internet enough, so when they said "sure, it'll be fine", I thought they knew what they were talking about.

I have a few years experience now, hundreds of read articles, and a new way to approach the hobby since I started. I also joined 3Reef so I could get others views on what is going on in the hobby and I have learned that knowledge is the key to selecting livestock and to never believe anything I am told by the LFS employees.

I can say I have definitely learned my lessons the hard way.

Thats why I posted the response. I have made many mistakes myself and who am I to attack anyone. That was not my intent I was just being a smart butt. My new approach is to share what knowledge I have, but not to judge anyone. There is to much of that on forums. :) Just please do research before buying live stock is all I ask.
