horseshoe crabs

    i have found about a dozen or more horseshoe crabs or what i believe to be horseshoe crabs in my tank. im not sure how i got them because they were not there before. i guess there were eggs in my live rock or something but i am wondering if they are good to have or are they gonna cause me problems?

    Cool...lucky you.....depending on how old your tank is they are benificial sand stirrers.....if your tank is mature and they have enough nutrition they will live......I doubt all 10 of them will survive
    How big is your tank and how old and how deep is your sand bed?

    my tank is only a couple months old. it is a 115g tank and my sand bed is 3" deep.

    is there anything that i might be able to feed them to help them survive?

    probably any meaty food.

    I would definitely take most the lfs because there is now way your tank can support them all.

    Could one of these live in a 29g? 1.5" - 2" SSB.

    seano you have seen horseshoe crabs right? depending on the species they either get 8-24 inches.

    Yes, I have. I just wasn't sure how long they take to grow. Live Aquaria has them at about 1".

    I think they are really interesting but my tank is small.
