Well I got tired of losing fish so I did it. I bought 3 20 gallon long acrylic tanks and put my proclear 300 wet/dry skimmer. Question is how do i get it set up. I made fresh salt water got the system running then did a w/c from the 220 and changed 25 gallons of the 80 gallons of the 3 20 s and the sump limit and hope I can add the new fish I have coming? what are your thought? I am looking to qt before adding the new fish and then if they need it have a hospital tank. I am not keeping anything other then sick or new fish in it so I know I can treat ick. How long to wait before letting them into it?

Sounds like a good plan to me. As long as your salt water has been mixed for at least 24 hours it should be ready. Are you running any filtration on your qt? You may want to consider a HOB filter so you can run carbon after any treatments you may do to make sure the water is cleaned up.

You can put them in immediately. I set my QT tanks up at a moments notice, all it takes is the filter sponge I keep in my sump and some fresh, not old saltwater. Why subject the new fish to old water?

Get the temperature, salinity and pH correct, acclimate them and let them go in the QT, its that easy. I tear it down between uses, throw the sponge away and add a new one to my sump for next time so its charged with bacteria and ready to go at a moments notice.

I have a huge wet dry with skimmer for the filter. The filets was the origional on my 220 and is way over sized for the 3 20 gallon longs I have set up. I also have a marineland 300 skimmer for the tanks wich is huge for this system. I think the skimmer sucks but its all good its good for this system.
