...the night time... is the right time...
dropping the garbage off at the dump yesterday and saw someone had chucked a big old hottub with all the drains and pumps etc.. now obviously the pumps and some of the steel fittings would need to be replaced and i'd have to seriously butter up the old lady... but how frickin cool would this be? i've been thinking nonstop about it since i saw it. its about 2 feet deep and roughly 4x4. huge potential with this type of setup once its up and going, any ideas?

replumb, then use that coating, and make the inside look like rock.

Maybe you can cut a hole in it and make a window with plex. hmmmmmm.

    Go for it!

Personally, I would pass on it. It's going to cost a lot more than you think and the end result will be a look down or a stock tank.

I'm assuming it's made of opaque material? I don't think it's worth it if that the case, although it is a cool idea.

I think it would be pretty cool. Kind of like the outdoor reef tank that was posted a while back. Nothing wrong with a lookdown tank.

I was thinking about this same idea a few months back. Find a way to retro some halides into the cover so you can close it during bad weather. The coolest thing about this idea to me is the fact it comes pre-built with a heater capable of keeping the temp perfect in 0 degree weather outside.
