    You will never achieve the seal required to prevent the permeation of the pest control chemicals.

    You will also have a challenge changing enough water in-which will detoxify the water to a point it will not negatively effect anything.

    Hey Pack. I've known folks to run the skimmer airline outside, turn out the lights, throw a tarp over it and duck tape it to their wood floor. It may not keep 100% out, but his tank survived. Mostly a softy tank with some LPS.

    You could run the tube through a window opening and tape it up to keep the house sealed. It's not under pressure, duct tape should hold. I'd point it out to apartment mgmt though.
