Housing A Starfish?

    I'm no marine biologist. I was told it is a red sea star. If we are going to nit pick... ALL fish, inverts, and everything else belong in the sea where they belong and not in tanks! Just saying, where do you draw the line?

    I'm only trying to be helpful. FTR, I draw the line between what can and what cannot receive proper care in captivity. From the vast numbers of sea stars that I've seen here and elsewhere that have perished from starvation, I feel they have no place in the pet trade.

    Exactly my point- your LFS couldn't even tell you what species it is; how could they have possibly known it's dietary requirements or if it was even suitable for your tank?

    Glad to hear. :)

    Unfortunately, they're so common in the trade and so irresistibly unique that nearly everybody has to try at least one with their first SW aquarium. And yes, I made that same mistake, too...
