So I have a suspicion that my custom built fuge has a leak in it. I've been noticing a lot of salt creep building up around the base of it. Seems localized to the front panel more so than others. I've also noticed that my ATO has been going through water a little faster and that my salt level has gone from 1.0245 to around 1.0235-1.0234. Not a big difference but with my ATO the sg has always been perfectly stable. I'm suspecting that it's a very small leak as I see no actual water around it so I'm thinking it evaporates before it builds up but I could be wrong. I really don't want to take out the fuge for the simple fact of all of the disruption it will cause my tank. I lost probably 3 corals in the setting up of it. Any ideas?

ohh that really sucks; happened to my biocube as well. I used some silicone, and im waiting to see the result. the silicone i used is waterproof and its actually good quality, but you might have to drain the fuge... depends where the leak is

That's what I'm afraid of, is draining the fuge. I thought I sealed it up pretty good but I guess not.

chances are you will have to drain the fuge, and make sure your thoroughly dry it before applying the silicone, IME things have to be bone dry in order for the silicone to cure properly

If you want the best seal you have to have almost pure glass surface to work on. Dry it well and use like 70% alcohol or something similar to clean it with. Then seal away!! woooo!

if the leak is small enough the salt will seal it after awils but you might try some superglue that way you might nt have to drain the fuge.
