how 2 know when a leather coral is ready for fragging?

    I just acquired a 72gallon saltwater tank and with it came a devils hand coral! just recently, he has had little polyps coming out of him all over, like shown in the picture (excuse the hawkfish that is his favorite perch lol!). does this mean he is ready for fragging? im new at this lol

    You can frag those pretty much anytime you want. The fingers that are coming out are just its way of catching food. Usually it takes them a bit when they are moved from the tank to extend them again. If you wanna frag it just cut a piece off and tie it to a rock with some netting of even just rubber band it. In a couple of weeks its will attach to the rock and begin growing into another leather.
