i have been stacking my drybase rock i got from marco rocks in an old 20tall so i dont scratch my new drilled one and it seems like less is better sometimes ive came up with 2 stackings that are rock solid using all of my rock one i really liked and one not so much but the last few days ive been taking a few peices out and shifting its looking pretty darn good but if im at my 1lb.-1 gal. i would be shocked i bet i have less than 1/2 pound per gal in the tank.

my question is do i stack it like i like it then cram the rest of it into a refuge area of my sump or should i really try to get at least my 1-1 ratio in the display tank?

did you weigh the rock? you may have more than you think. you dont "need" to be 1 to 1. but more is always better. you can put rock in your fuge. Ive seen a few peiople with reef tanks that a below the 1 to 1.5 per Ib target.

wel i havent weighed what i have in the tank yet im trying to figure out how to mark or secure the rocks into bigger peices my main problem is i got a 25lb box of nano rock from marco when i should have called him and got 25lbs of normal size rock i have to many small peices and not enough big ones
ive super glued a few and epoxied a few i didnt think the epoxy was gonna work out at first it seemed like playdough and wasnt sticking to the rocks the super glue'd rocks held very nicely though

Fill up the top with what you think looks good, take a couple of those chunks and break it up, and leave a couple good sized ones to put in the fuge. This way you can have the benefits without cluttering your display tank and also giving fuge critters some homes :D

Dont forget that a lot of times when people say 1 lbs to 1 gallon is dealing with wet rock that weighs a lot more. You will need less base rock.
