ok so I tried putting the fan on the same timer as my lights. After the first night of the fan being off when the lights are off I came downstairs to find my tank temp had risen to 84 degrees . My house temp is a pretty constant 74 degrees this time of year, so I guess the equipment in my sump and tank is heating up the water. I'm starting to think my only option is to leave the fan on all the time and get a more precise heater...any suggestions on brand?
