I have a tank, which is only about 5 months old has a seabe that has only been in there about 3 months (flame me for putting it in there "too early"). Anyway, this thing seems to be growing fast and not slowing down. Does anyone know how big they can get?

This one is about 10"-11" wide, it was about 8" when I got it. Sure, I should have done more research as some will say before putting such a creature in my tank, but my other tank has had a seabe in it for 10 months, has never exceeded 4" wide.

I feed it a scallop or half a shrimp once a week. Initially was feeding it twice a week to help with it's zooanthelle because it was bleached, and now I have cut back. It's mouth is always wide open like it's hungry.

I have googled a lot and cannot find anything saying approx. how big these get. Does anyone else have a massive one?

Should I quit feeding it once a week and maybe give it treats once a month or something?!

Here's a pic of it. You can see it's wide open mouth begging for a snack.

My next store neighbor had a sebae that was at least a foot across, at least. It started off 2" across when he bought it from my store and within a year or so it was already that large. Do you know if you have H. crispa or H. malu, both are referred to as sebaes?

    Happy anemone keeping!

Well I bought it from petco (lol) which just called it a Seabe. While I was googling trying to figure out how big they can get realized there are two types of seabe's like you mentioned. I found sites that said H. malu can get up to a foot, but nothing about H. Crispa. In conclusion, I don't know which one it is and can't seem to figure out the difference, nor any size info on the H. Crispa if it is that.

I just hope this thing stops growing! I feed it because it wants food but maybe I should stop or slow down... It's a 75gal tank and I keep having to move corals away from it... I don't want it getting any bigger than it is!
